San Antonio Zoo

What a wonderful day, the weather was beautiful and great Company with our friends the Nolens.

Unfortunately Sydney was not feeling very well this morning, probably some type of stomach bug, so it was play it by year but she was a real trooper and we made it all the way through the AFRICA exhibit, got to see Rebecca's favorite the Hippos, and so many other wonderful animals.

My favorite part of the whole day was getting to watch a family of 3 monkeys, of some species that eludes me now... It was just a adorable to watch them search for the coveted raisins, search through boxes, oatmeal cans, and other little puzzles the zookeeper set up for them.

 

Scott really loved the Green Mamba and the Hippos...

And the long awaited, heralded MOLD - A - RAMA!

Christmas!

What a wonderful Christmas, Scott got Andrew
and I so many wonderful gifts, and not to mention the one pretty cool gift I gave him this year, the Overnight Express!

                   

Our new tradition is not really to have Christmas dinner, but to have breakfast and then prepare a pot roast so I get all my cooking done in the morning, it is so much easier that way!

Happy Thanksgiving!

What a wonderful holiday!  Andrew and kicked off the morning by putting a together a batch of pumpkin muffins for breakfast... yummy :)

Soon afterwards it was time for our tradition (if you do it twice it's a tradition right?) of going on a turkey hunt.

After Andrew and daddy brought home a turkey for dinner we go to the business of cooking... no real pictures here as the camera woman is also the cook.  But I received the greatest compliment a mom can ever get from her own son telling me that I am the greatest chef ever :) I cried of course...

I wish we had more family here with us but a small thanksgiving is nice too and I am thankful either way for the beautiful family I have and the life we are building.

  

Halloween

Halloween was such a blast this year, Scott and I have not dressed up in years, I don't think since I was a kid to be honest and this year us and the White family decided to dress up as zombies.  We really went all out, the pictures in this instance really are worth a 1000 words!

BEAUTIFULLY (overcast?) day at the zoo!

What a wonderful day we had today at the Cameron Park Zoo. Rebecca and I both asking each other on Saturday "do you want to go to the zoo on Monday?" Of course being a day of for the both of us...

Andrew's favorite exhibit was the fish, he actually was looking forward to seeing the fish before we even left this morning.

We got to enjoy the very off the beaten track "nature trail," which was a lot of fun, but Andrew finally put his foot down and blocked my photo opp :)

One great new exhibit was the orangutans, they are such tremendous creatures in person. All the kids got to enjoy what it might feel like to swing through the trees as they do.
