Andrew's first ever school project

Andrew is enjoying first grade this year, it was challenging at first to have so much work to do! :)   This year for the last month or so the first grade teachers have been teaching an entire unit on Australia.  They have had a visitor from the Zoo with Australian animals, a trip to Outback Steakhouse, and now this week they turn in their Australian Endangered Animal report.

Andrew picked the Orange Bellied Parrot, and here pasted is the actual report he typed.

Orange Bellied Parrot

·        The male is colorful and the female is not.

·        When alarmed, these parrots make a buzzy call.

·        They live for less than four years.

·        They eat fruit and seeds.

·        The Orange Bellied Parrot is about 8 inches long.

·        They migrate inland for the winter.

·        They breed only once and produce four or five eggs.

·        There are only about 50 left in the wild.

 

It was certainly challenging doing a project like this with a six year old of course, but, I think we did OK.
